opening reception JANUARY 14TH, 2011

By 1976, at the age of twenty-three, Ivy was living in Los Angeles, working for the LA Times under the iconic fashion editor Mary Lou Luther.

It was her ticket into the Hollywood nightlife, rubbing shoulders with and photographing celebrities like Lucille Ball and John Travolta, in timeless black and white.

While living off the Sunset Strip, a stone’s throw from The Whisky A-gogo, Ivy became a fixture on the LA music scene, documenting the early days of the The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, The Go-Go’s, Henry Rollins, X, local punk darlings- The Screamers, and capturing candid portraits of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.

Ivy usually needed just one snap to capture the essence of her subject. This resulted in her most memorable images.
