John Van Hamersveld

Last weekend I had the pleasure of meeting John Van Hamersveld and his lovely wife Alida Post at their Pop Up Gallery in the Pacific Design Center during Design Loves Art event. I can’t tell you how much I love his Endless Summer poster for the 1966 surf culture movie.
On April 6th, John will give a talk and tour of his show that includes 50 years of work that range from iconic music industry to pop culture related images. The event will also include an exploration of John’s new 150 page book “My Art, My Life” and an examination John’s collection of graphic design works, covering from 1961 to the present day.

Brainstorm

I’m always on the hunt for new artwork to update my little guy’s room as he gets older. Came across these prints from Brainstorm Print and Design and fell in love. Cool, aren’t they?

Darcel Disappoints

I just finished reading an interview with Craig Redman on JUXTAPOZ online magazine and was intrigued by his illustrations, sculptures, and designs. Redman is one out of a 5 person collective known as Rinzen. The Australian born artist living in New York has a very cool blog that documents his thoughts and activities thru his witty illustrations.
