FUCK PRETTY

Fuck Pretty – A Photography Exhibit

Actress Angela Featherstone’s first curated show, Fuck Pretty, is a collection of photographs by world-renowned and unknown women artists, whose work moves and inspires her. There are images from contemporary photographers Catherine Opie, Susan Meiselas, Tierney Gearon and equally important to the curator, an array of emerging artists, some of whose work the curator is proud to be showing for the very first time.

Whewwww, glad 11 days in bed is behind me. I’ve been thru a craniotomy and natural childbirth. I can honestly say that having a tonsillectomy is right up there. I’m still not completely healed and in a bit of pain, but man am I glad that’s over with. Funny, I found this website called My BigFat Tonsillectomy that became my support group. It was good to know I wasn’t alone in my pain and suffering.

So, back to business. Was shopping for a client on Monday @ the Holly Hunt showroom at the Pacific Design Center. Spotted these pretty FAB pieces and wanted to share. Holly Hunt is a “To The Trade” only showroom, so if anything strikes your fancy, let me know. I’d be happy to help.

Oh yeah, they are having a 40% off showroom sample sale on right now.

Os Gêmeos

Took la familia to opening day of Art in the Streets downtown @MOCA few weeks ago. I have to say my favorite installation was Os Gêmeos. I’m pretty sure Jonah loved it as well.

Os Gêmeos (Portuguese for The Twins) are graffiti artist identical twin brothers (born 1974) from São Paulo, Brazil, whose real names are Otavio and Gustavo Pandolfo. They started painting graffiti in 1987 and gradually became a main influence in the local scene, helping to define Brazil’s own style. Their work often features yellow-skinned characters – taken from the yellow tinge both of the twins have in their dreams – but is otherwise diverse and ranges from tags to complicated murals. Subjects range from family portraits to commentary on São Paulo’s social and political circumstances, as well as Brazilian folklore. Their graffiti style was influenced by both traditional hip hop style and the Brazilian pixação movement. ~From Wikipedia

Oh yeah, that’s Joey Krebs AKA The Phantom taking Jon and Jonah’s pic.
